On September 19, our lab held a farewell party for Mr. Bin Modh Hanafi. Hafidzal received his master’s degree from the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) before joining Maruta lab as a research student and PhD student in 2015. His research here was concerned with soot formation at mild temperatures and the soot inhibiting effect of n-butanol using our in-house micro flow reactor with a controlled temperature profile.

The farewell party was held in the Restaurant Hagi on Katahira campus, where we enjoyed a Japanese lunch set including fresh sashimi and assorted side dishes. Prof. Maruta expressed his gratitude for Hafidzal’s dedication in his research. Likewise, Hafidzal thanked all lab members for their support and the time that he spent in our lab.

Currently, Hafidzal is employed as a lecturer at his former university, the Technical University of Malaysia, Melaka.
