Hello! I’m Okada, a second-year Master’s student.
Four members from our laboratory, including Nakamura-sensei, Morii-sensei, Kakuda-san, and myself, participated in the 19th International Conference on Numerical Combustion (ICNC) held in Kyoto from May 7th to May 10th and gave oral presentations. I was extremely nervous about my first presentation in English starting from the day before. The result was not very satisfying, but through this presentation, I was able to identify many areas for improvement within myself, so I want to work harder to give better presentations next time.

At this conference, there were more presentations related to my research field compared to previous conferences I attended, which made it very interesting to attend. However, due to my lack of English proficiency, there were still parts that I couldn’t fully understand. This past week made me feel frustrated about my own lack of ability, but I want to use this experience as motivation to strive for improvement in both my research and English skills in the future.
