Hello, I’m Miyazaki, a second-year master’s student.

I participated in the Thermal Engineering Conference held on October 5 and 6 at the KDDI Ishin Hall in Yamaguchi City, where I gave an oral presentation.

I had experience with poster presentations, but this was my first time presenting orally. I found it challenging to convey the same explanation to a large audience. Thanks to the guidance of my professors and colleagues in the lab, I was able to present and handle questions calmly.

There were a wide range of interesting presentations, from fundamental research on combustion to applied studies. I also had the chance to meet Akiba, who graduated last year, and we exchanged updates on our recent activities.

Reflecting on my oral presentation, I want to work hard for future conference presentations.

Additionally, on the first day of the conference, there was a ceremony to award Takashi Kakizawa with the “Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers Young Outstanding Presentation Fellow Award” for the Thermal Engineering Conference 2023 (held on October 14-15, 2023).
