Hello! This is Moriyama, a first-year master’s student.

From September 25 to 27, I participated in JSFM Annual Meeting 2024, held at Forest Sendai in Kita-Yonbancho, Sendai, and gave an oral presentation.

Since the conference was held in Sendai, I was fairly relaxed, but I ended up making significant updates to my presentation content right before the event, which left me scrambling in the end. Moreover, since I was scheduled to present first on the very first day, I approached it with a lot of nervousness. Still, once I started speaking, I felt as calm as I had been during my practice sessions and believe I was able to present smoothly.

During the Q&A session, the discussion revolved around confirming some premises and the connection between the combustion phenomena I addressed and its potential applications. It turned out to be a valuable time, giving me insights for further research and improving future presentations.

There weren’t many presentations on combustion, so I peeked into other sessions. I found some fascinating talks, especially those that approached biology and sports from a fluid mechanics perspective.
