The Combustion Summer School 2025 in Sendai, organized by the Combustion Society of Japan
2025.9.24
Hello, this is Suzuki, a fourth-year undergraduate student.
I participated in the 2025 Combustion Summer School organized by the Combustion Society of Japan, held over two days from September 12 to 13 at Espole Miyagi in Sendai, the City of Trees. From our laboratory, five members attended: Mr. Miyazaki (D1), Mr. Nishiyama (M2), Mr. Moriyama, Mr. Kaneko (B4), and myself.
This summer school provided a valuable opportunity to hear insightful talks from leading researchers and professionals from both academia and industry—talks that are rarely available at regular academic conferences. Our advisor, Professor Maruta, was also one of the invited lecturers, and his presentation offered us another chance to deepen our understanding of combustion science.
One of the most memorable aspects of the event was the close interaction with the lecturers and other participants. The post-lecture discussions allowed for in-depth conversations without time constraints, which left a strong impression on me.
Sharing meals and accommodations with professors and students from other universities gave me a chance to learn how peers in similar fields approach their research. These exchanges helped me refine my own perspectives. I hope to apply the knowledge and connections gained from this summer school to my future research activities.
